I recently finished the 5 AM club as an attempt to read more ideas on how to make myself more productive. I will summarise the main ideas of this book The 5 AM club.

Morning Routine:

The book's main idea is that a good morning routine can change the productivity of the day. To ensure that this happens the author advises waking up at 5 AM every day, try and make it a commitment for 66 days.

The 20/20/20 formula:

In the first 20 minutes perform physical activity to reduce cortisol levels and increase endorphin levels in the body. In the second 20 minutes be grateful and plot the day, do some meditation and journal which is reflecting and manifesting. In the last 20 minutes, the author advises to read, learn or listen so as to improve in the field of knowledge.

Other Lessons:

The book is basically promoting a life that involves deep work and advises against technology 2 hours before bedtime and advises an early bedtime.

Critique:

The book could have been multiple times shorter if the points that needed to be explained could have just been explained. In an attempt to make it easier for readers the story gets a little on the nerves. The lessons could have been made clear instead of focusing on unnecessary story points in an attempt to convey the information.

Suggestion:

If you like reading books this is probably a decent one to pick up depending on your needs at that point in time. If you are not a book reader and prefer a visual medium I would prescribe this podcast where the author promotes the book and talks in detail about the book.
